You are a creative professional.
You are a musician, a performer. A writer, a photographer. An artist, a designer. A director, a performer. You’re a maker, or a creative entrepreneur. You work in the arts, or in a creative industry such as the media, fashion, publishing, theatre, dance, TV and film.
Perhaps you are on the brink of a new opportunity, or you want to create one for yourself. You’re ready to take on your next big, bold project.
Or you want to rebalance your life, and discover new tools to manage your time and energy better.
You want to hone your leadership skills, to get things done with less stress. And with far less fuss, drama and procrastination.
You want more. More time, more fun, more focus, more inspiration, more money.
You feel ready to step up and take your career, your creative work or your business to the next level.
You’re ready to make some big changes.
I can help, because I know your world.
I know what it’s like. I’ve worked as a freelance writer and as an editor on magazines and newspapers for over 30 years.
As a journalist, I’ve been on countless film and TV sets, backstage at fashion shows, on the tour bus and in the studio.
I’ve had the privilege of being behind the scenes watching while choreographers worked on a new ballet at Sadlers Wells. I’ve seen the Royal Shakespeare Company rehearse, and Hollywood costume designers work their magic. I’ve been to artists’ studios, seen sculptures carved and cast, and major exhibitions installed.
As editor of The Face and the Observer magazines, I’ve collaborated with world-class writers, photographers, stylists, designers and art directors.
Most of all, I’ve been able to learn from some of the very best creatives in their fields. I’ve interviewed actors, artists, architects, chefs, curators, directors, musicians, novelists, product designers, script-writers. As well as highly skilled craftspeople and artisans of all kinds.
I’ve also worked with some of them as a coach.
This is the bit where I’m supposed to tell you all about the life-transforming power of coaching. Or outline exactly what we might do together.
Where I tell you about dormant careers revived, incomes that soared, stalled projects bought to a satisfying close. And if you want to read what clients say about working with me, you can see a few of those below.
But it’s far better to just experience a coaching conversation for yourself, and discover the difference it can make. So if you’re interested in working with me, let’s talk!
Want to know more? Here’s what to expect from an introductory session with me.
Want to try an introductory coaching session?
I have some questions for you first.
Then, if we seem like a good fit, we’ll set up an in-depth, 90-minute coaching session, with no obligation to take things further. I charge £99 for these sessions. Lots of coaches offer a shorter ‘discovery’ call for free. If you want to understand why I don’t, I’ve written a short article on why I charge for my introductory coaching session.
If you see the value in it, you might want to work with me more regularly. But if it’s not for you, or if you have all you need for now after this initial session, that’s fine too. Either way, I’ll have met someone interesting, and you will leave with some new tools, resources or approaches to try.
Interested? I only do four of these sessions a month. To apply for yours, click the button below and fill out the form.
And if one-to-one coaching isn’t right for you or your budget right now, take a look at my group coaching programme: ten weeks of learning, growth and connection with a small group of other creatives. Next one starts October 2025. Join my mailing list to be the first to know when booking opens.
